  • A Room Worth Crossing Continents For: My Smart Stewards 10th Anniversary Summit Experience

Last month, I boarded a flight from the UK to Lagos, Nigeria – not for a vacation, but for transformation.

The Smart Stewards 10th Anniversary Summit wasn’t just another event on my calendar. It was a divine appointment. As I scanned the speaker line-up, something stirred in me. I knew this was a room I needed to be in. My coach, Sola Adesakin CPA, FCA, FCCA, MBA, CFEI, once told me, “The best and greatest investment you can ever make is in yourself.” That wisdom echoed in my spirit as I packed my bags. I was ready.

    The Power of Proximity

One of the most profound moments for me was sitting in on the prophetic panel. These weren’t just speakers – they were vessels whose lives and ministries had shaped mine over the years:

Pastor Ayodeji Megbope: Her journey from humble beginnings to global impact continues to inspire me to embrace purpose with boldness.

Pastor Debola Deji – Kurunmi: Her prophetic insight and leadership have been a guiding light in my own spiritual and professional growth.

Pastor Mayokun Oreofe: Her depth and authenticity reminded me of the power of walking in divine alignment.

And of course, Sola Adesakin CPA, FCA, FCCA, MBA, CFEI, my coach and mentor, whose voice has consistently called me higher.

I didn’t need a selfie or a handshake. Just being in the same room was enough. Enough to tap into the grace they carried. Enough to receive impartation by proximity and to sit and soak in the wisdom being dished out. It was a feast fit for a king (or a queen as the case may be).

    Community, Connection, and Grace

The summit was also a beautiful reunion. I met Smart Stewards community members I’d connected with virtually during the course of the year – now face to face. There’s something powerful about meeting likeminded individuals who share your values, your hunger, and your pursuit of purpose. The atmosphere was charged with authenticity, wisdom, and divine alignment.

I also made new connections, bonding over our thirst for growth and the determination not to leave the event the same way we came… something had to shift. We sat paying rapt attention and soaking in all the wisdom being shared and taking our own portions.

I didn’t come to the summit casually. I came ready. Ready to learn. Ready to grow. Ready to shift. Ready to move forward. Ready for new levels and next levels. And now, with my notebook full and my heart stirred, it’s time to take action. The seeds have been sown – now it’s time to water them with discipline, strategy, and faith.

To everyone who made the Smart Stewards 10th Anniversary Summit what it was – thank you. You created a space where destiny could be activated. And to anyone wondering if it’s worth investing in yourself, traveling for growth, or stepping into rooms that stretch you: It absolutely is.

Here’s to stewarding what we’ve received. Here’s to smart moves, bold faith, and unstoppable progress.

  • The Gift of midwives – Delivering destiny

This morning, as I lingered in prayer, I found myself calling God by one of His beautiful names: Baby Giver. Initially, I prayed for those longing for the blessing of children, but then the Holy Spirit nudged me gently, reminding me – I am pregnant. Not with a physical child, but with something extraordinary: destiny, purpose, and the plans and thoughts of God concerning my life.

In that moment of reflection, the name Baby Giver resonated deeply within me. It speaks of a God who doesn’t just place dreams or visions within us – He entrusts us with His plans, His “babies,” if you will. The baby has already been given. Yet, as with any pregnancy, we cannot deliver alone. Midwives are essential, present to help us bring forth the life and legacy we’ve been entrusted with.

    Midwives: Who are they?

Midwives are those who support, guide, and encourage us in our most vulnerable and crucial moments. They cheer us on when we falter, hold us steady when we feel weak, and remind us to push when giving up seems tempting. Midwives come in many forms: mentors, family, friends, even divine connections at just the right time. They share in the labour of love, ensuring that what God has placed inside of us comes to fruition.

    Identifying your midwives

Who are the midwives in your life? They may be individuals who have spoken life into your dreams, offered wisdom, or stood alongside you in prayer. Often, they are the quiet encouragers, the ones who see your potential even when you don’t and believe in the beauty of what you’re carrying.

Take a moment to reflect and identify these people. Perhaps God has placed someone in your path today to remind you that you’re not alone in your labour. Recognising your midwives is vital, as it’s a step toward gratitude and growth.

    A season of thanks

Today, I want to honour and thank the midwives in my life—those who have helped me push through fear, doubt, and uncertainty. You’ve been the hands and voices that reminded me to keep going when the weight of my “pregnancy” felt overwhelming. You are my gifts from God, sent to ensure that the destiny I carry comes into the world safely.

    Encouragement for others

To anyone reading this, know that you, too, have midwives. Open your heart to recognize them and allow their support to propel you forward. And remember, you may also be a midwife for someone else—don’t underestimate the power of your encouragement, prayers, or presence in someone else’s journey.

Together, we labour, push, and deliver the extraordinary plans God has placed within us. Let’s move forward with gratitude for those who journey alongside us, and courage to embrace the destiny we’re meant to birth.

  • Fuel for the soul

How reflection and accountability ignite the fire within.

Last week Thursday was one of those packed days—back-to-back meetings that seemed endless. By the time work was done, all I wanted to do was sink into my duvet and let the world fade away. But I had a commitment to keep—my monthly catchup with my accountability partner. And despite the fatigue, I knew it was worth showing up. Why? Because this meeting wasn’t just another chat—it was the spark I needed to set the pace for April 2025.

Accountability isn’t a chore or a checkbox; it’s a gift we give ourselves. Once a week, we connect over the phone. Once a month, we meet in person—sharing a light meal, a few drinks, and deeper conversations about our goals, visions, and progress. It’s not just about what’s next; it’s about celebrating how far we’ve already come and learning from the journey so far.

Last Thursday was no different. As we reflected on the highs and lows of the first quarter, we listened, encouraged, and motivated each other. We celebrated our wins, learned from our losses, and set clear plans for the month ahead. I left that meeting energised—like the weight of the day had melted away, replaced with clarity and excitement.

When I got home, my mind was alive with ideas. New video scripts, fresh articles, and even key points for my next book started to take shape in my head. It felt like the fire in my soul had been reignited, reminding me why I do what I do as an accountability coach and mentor.

Here’s the truth: No matter how tired or busy you are, investing in accountability and reflection is never wasted. These moments of pause and connection are where growth happens. It’s where we reignite our passion, realign with our purpose, and find the courage to keep moving forward.

As April unfolds, I’m ready to take on what’s next with renewed energy and a clear vision. How about you? Who holds you accountable, and how often do you pause to reflect?

  • Overcoming Obstacles with Faith

When my husband of 18 years and best friend of 28 years passed away, I was left with the overwhelming responsibility of raising our two young teenagers (now young adults) alone. The sorrow and uncertainty seemed insurmountable. But within that despair, I found a flicker of hope a whisper of faith that told me I could overcome this. My journey was not easy, but it was faith that anchored me through the storm.

Faith gave me the strength to take each day as it came. It reminded me that even in the darkest times, God had a plan for me and my teenagers. As I leaned into this faith, I discovered a resilience I never knew I had. I became more determined to not only survive but to thrive.

This newfound determination pushed me forward, igniting a passion to help, encourage and motivate others. I realised that my experiences, though painful, were not in vain. They equipped me to inspire and support others in living their best lives and fulfilling their God-given purposes.

Through faith and perseverance, I have been able to turn obstacles into stepping stones, proving that with courage, anything is possible.

To anyone who might be going through one challenge or another today, my encouragement to you is:

In the face of life’s most daunting challenges, it is our faith that provides the strength to persevere and find hope in the darkest of times. Just as I discovered a renewed sense of purpose and resilience through my faith after losing my beloved husband, I encourage each of you to hold on steadfastly to your own beliefs and inner strength.

Remember, every obstacle is an opportunity for growth, and with unwavering faith, you can overcome any adversity. Let your faith be the guiding light that leads you through, even when the path ahead seems uncertain.

Stay strong, stay hopeful, and know that you are never alone on this journey.

Let’s support each other through our shared experiences and triumphs. Feel free to connect with me or reach out if you need encouragement or a listening ear. Together, we can uplift and inspire one another.
